Neesha stared at me as if she’s seeing me for the first time.

“The fuck is yah ass smoking on? Yah ass is jealous. That’s yah problem. I’ve bent over backwards fa’ yo ungrateful ass. Doing every and anything that I thought would make yo ass happy. It wasn’t enough. Nothing was enough fa’ yah ass.

You started smelling ya’self. Then, it was fuck Neesha and what she got to say. I’m through wit yo ass. I promise you should be praying to God, cuz he saved yo life. Yo ass bout to have every fuckin’ thing yo ass has ever wanted… Freedom,” she snapped.

The way she’s looking at me, coupled with her words, pissed me off. Fuck what she’s saying. She’s lying. She ain’t never did fa’ me how she does fa’ Seaqual. Fuck that lil bastard. I thought, before,

“Die, Bitch!” I seethed, charging his lil’ ass with a knife.

That was my sole reason for moving to the kitchen.

“Bitch, is you stupid?” Neesha sneered, tackling me.

“Get the fuck off me, before I kill yo ass too. That fucker ain’t shit!” I yelled, tussling with her ass.

“Ocean, the fuck yo ass smoked, huh? Stop this shit! Stab me, I’mma kill yo monkey ass,” she hissed, through gritted teeth.

I could feel the truth behind her words. Fuck her know it all ass. Always hollering bout what I’m smoking on. She needs to smoke on some shit so she can stop being so stuck up.

“Neesha, get off her! Let her go bout her business! She wants me dead, let her hoe ass try! She gonna hurt you,” Seaqual called out, grabbing her attention.

  Perfect, I thought before,

  SWOOSH!

“Aww, fuck! Bitch, yo dumb ass cut me!” She howled, grabbing her right arm.

Pushing her off me, jumping to my feet, taking off to my room.

“I got you, Neesha,” Seaqual yelled.

“What the fuck did I do?” I questioned, pulling out my money box and duffle bag.

I know I can’t stay here, fa’ real. This shit gets to Banks, I’m dead. Those thoughts caused me to pack my shit faster. I just need to hide out for bout two weeks.

Leaving my room, I rushed down the hall through the living room, not even sparing Neesha or Seaqual a glance. All I saw was a bloody towel wrapped round her arm. She’ll be fine. Fuck, she should’ve just let me kill the lil’ bastard. Hitting the stoop, taking a calming breath, while looking down at myself checking fa’ blood spots. I’m good, I thought, stepping off the stoop.

LSC is still popping, ignoring a few dudes callin’ my name, I continued walking out of LSC. The only way I will leave is to get as far away from LSC as fucking possible. Right now, there’s only one person who might deal wit my ass.

Pulling my cell out, I punched his number in from memory. Listening to the phone ring while sitting at the bus stop.

  “What?” He barked.

“Ayee, boo. How you doing? I miss you. How bout you come pick me up and let me show you how much?” I cooed.

“Who the fuck is this?” He snapped.

Smacking my teeth at his ignorant ass.

“So, you got amnesia now? I’m the one who helped you out bout a month and some change ago. Come pick me up, and I’ll help you out wit something more,” I snapped, tryin’ to keep my attitude in.

“Watch yo fuckin’ mouth. You the bitch from LSC? I got cha. Check it tho. I got somebody I’ll send fa’ yah ass. Be at the ‘Crossroads’ in forty-five. Yo ass ain’t there, you good as fuckin’ left. Play wit me and die,” he ordered, hanging up.

Making sure my phone hung up. Ugly fucker may not be worth all this bullshit. A few stacks, semi okay dick, and loud, ain’t enough. But right now, it’s all I got. I gotta make it to the damn ‘Crossroads,’ then figure the rest of this shit out.

I got a trick fa’ everyone who has ever underestimated me. Who has ever called me childish? Who has ever thought it was okay to cross me while treating my ass like shit? Oh, they gonna feel me by any means, they will feel me, and it’s gonna fucking hurt.

  Banks

  ‘Daffney Townsland’s House’

“Hey, Ma. Where my big boy at?” I called out, walking in my mama’s house.

“Hey, baby,” she called back from somewhere in the house.

“Daddy!” Lil’ D yelled, running down the hall to me.

“Aye, big man. I missed you, man. How you doing? You ready to hang out wit Daddy?” I questioned, lifting his heavy ass up.

“Mos’ def,” he let me know.

Staring into his face that mirrors mine. He’s my heart. I’ve thanked God many of days that he looks like me, and not his mama. Not because she’s ugly, but because I don’t think I could see her fucking face everyday. Trick ass hoe makes my balls itch.

“I’m good. I miss you. Can we go to Chuckie Cheese?” He asked, holding on to my neck.

Holding my groan in just barely. I hate that damn place.

“Wha’ bout Frankie’s? We can ride the go carts,” I compromised.

He leaned his head back like he was thinking.

  “Okay,” he answered, smiling.

Carrying him through the house ‘til I hit the living room where my moms was. Bending down I hugged her while placing a kiss on her forehead.

  “You hungry, D?” She asked.

“No, ma’am. Where’s Drake?” I questioned, taking a seat on the couch.

“On a date. She’s a beauty too. A lil’ on the thin side, but you know I have no problem fattening her up,” she answered, giggling a little.

  This is news to me.

“You met her before? Who her people is?” I questioned.

  She eyed me before,

“Lil’ D go make sure yah bag is packed,” she ordered.

“Okay, Maw-Maw. Don’t leave me, Daddy,” he agreed, fussing.

“I ain’t gonna leave yo lil’ ass. You my road dawg. We bout to mess the city up,” I told him, playfully, while tickling him before putting him down.

“I’mma get you back,” he spat, mean mugging my ass before running out the room.

“Bump that lil nigga. I ain’t scared of his ass,” I grumbled, watching his retreating back.

My words caused my mom to laugh.

“You so silly. That lil’ boy loves you to death. Yo ass needs to take him from that no good mama of his. I heard what the hell she did. I ain’t never heard of this Neesha girl, but she’s an ace in my book,” she let me know.

Shaking my head, not the least bit surprised she knows what went down. Four-one-one, ain’t got shit on my mama.

“We’ll talk bout that later. Whaddup wit this chick Drake dating?” I reiterated.

She nodded, while shifting her body in her favorite recliner.

“Un huh, I knows a lot bout her. Her name is Angela. Let’s see, she’s a pretty little thing. Natural hair, curly, pecan brown, with model features. She attends Clemson also. She’s majoring in criminal justice, while working as a law clerk at a law firm close by the college. She’s the baby of four. She’s in college on a full academic scholarship. She’s respectful, she’s not a virgin, but she ain’t a hoe. She been raised right. Her family got a little money. She’s truly a good girl. They are so cute together. I’m happy for my baby,” she explained, without pause.

Running her words through my head.

“Did you do a damn background check on’er?” I questioned, causing her mean ass to throw a pillow at me.

“No, boy. She told me. Drake confirmed it,” she fussed.

“That’s good. I gotta meet her before I make my final decision,” I relented.

“What final decision? Yah ass better not give him any of the dumb ass advice you use. He’s doing good. Now, where the hell have your ass been?” She fussed.

  “I-” I started.

“Before you form your lips to lie and say, ‘No where, just chillin’. I already know you been up to the hospital. You picked up some little boy and a young woman,” she added, shocking the shit outta my black ass.

  “What?” I blurted
out.

  SWOOSH!

“Damn, Ma! My bad. You dangerous,” I shrieked, rubbing my head.

Cock strong ass woman threw the damn remote at my ass.

“Say something else, D. I’mma beat yah ass. Now talk,” she threatened.

Sighing while continuing to rub the side of my head.

“He, they, live in LSC. He almost died from an asthma attack. I went to check on’em. He was being discharged. His sister, Neesha, was without her car, so I volunteered to take’em home,” I explained.

She stared at me, dissecting my ass. I hate that damn look. I’ve taken credit for shit I didn’t even do, because of that damn look.

“Mmmhmmm, so paying for his medicine, machine, food, all while leaving her a Bentley to drive, was all just because too, huh?” She broke down, smirking at me.

I started rubbing on my body before standing from the couch walking over to the mirror that’s hangin’ on the wall. Eyeing my eyes, parting my hair with my hands, feeling on my neck front, back, and side.

“D, the hell yah crazy ass doing?” She questioned, laughing.

“Naww, tell me where you put the tracking device at. Does the bitch have a camera?” I questioned, not pausing in my exploration.

She hollered at my words. She laughing, while I’m dead ass.

“D sit yah ass down. Ain’t nobody tracking you. I done told you I got eyes and ears everywhere. Finish telling me bout Neesha. When do I meet her?”

That question caused me to stop my self investigation and face her.

“First, it ain’t like that, so no meeting. Second, I don’t know much bout her outside of LSC. Third, if I’m crazy, blame yo’ self, you made me like this,” I answered, retaking my seat.

She just eyed me. I eyed her back, waiting for her words. It’s very rare that she let’s me slide wit a half ass response.

“How long you keeping Lil’ D? You know we going to Disney World at the end of the month.”

My mouth dropped at her change of subject. That’s that bullshit. I don’t trust that at all. She’s setting my ass up.

“I’m keeping him until y’all go to Disney World,” I answered.

“Disney World! I’m ready!” Lil’ D yelled, running into the living room with his Paw Patrol book bag.

I guess he got his damn essentials in there. He keeps that shit with his ass.

“We going later, Snook. Now, you hangin’ wit yah daddy. Be good. Be a big boy. I love you,” Mama cooed sweetly, while grabbing him up.

Their bond is unbreakable. He’d rather be with her, than his mama. I can’t lie, mom dukes was beyond pissed when I told her I was having a baby from a female I wasn’t in a relationship wit. I told’er bout the condom ripping. She still didn’t give a damn. When Lil’ D was born, her heart softened some. That was, until she had her first conversation with Shenniqua.

Shenniqua tried setting all these outlandish rules. Telling my mom who Lil’ D could and couldn’t be round. She even went as far as to tell my mom that she better let her know if I have Lil’ D round a female. Mom Dukes cussed her ass out before beating her ass.

She straightened up some after that. She still has her dumb moments, but not wit my moms. I’m thinking real hard bout getting full custody. My only issue, Lil’ D loves his sisters.

“Big Man, you ready to go?” I questioned, standing.

“Yes, sir. Can I have Chick-Fil-A?” He asked.

  “You got money?”

“Yes, sir, I’m ballin’. But Maw-Maw told me to hold my duckets fa’ a later time,” he answered, eyeing me.

Chuckling at his lil’ smart ass.

“Aiight, you got that. Did you do yo numbers today?” I quizzed.

“Yes, sir. I count to a hundred and did adding and subtraction. Ask Maw-Maw,” he answered.

“Much respect. I’m proud of you. Let’s go,” I praised, causing a smile to spread across his face.

“See you later, Maw-Maw. I love you. Tell Unk to call me,” he stated, while hugging and kissing a laughing grandma.

“I got chu, baby,” she agreed, patting him on the butt.

Putting his book bag on. We left out the front door. Lil’ D is real smart. He’s two, but closer to three. Matter of fact, that’s why they are headed to Disney World at the end of the month. His birthday is August the first. He goes to Heathwood Hall private school. The education he’s receiving is worth the high ass tuition.

“Climb up,” I urged, holding the back door open fo’ him.

He did. He didn’t stop until he was in his car seat.

“Daddy, I get to see Unk Racks and Unk Stone? I miss them. Granddaddy Big Lou too,” he questioned.

“Shit,” I hissed, unintentionally, while fastening him in.

“Ohhh, Daddy in troubleeee,” he sung out, before fallin’ into a fit of laughter.

Shaking my head while chuckling. His lil’ ass is a character. He did tell the truth bout one thing. Big Lou was gonna shoot my ass. Climbing in the truck turning it on. I pressed the button for the television to fall down from the ceiling.

He automatically put his Beats on as they connected to the television. He’s watching either Paw Patrol, or the damn Chipmunks. My phone connected automatically.

  “Stone,” I called out.

  Hearing the phone ring.

“Speak,” his gritty voice boomed through the speakers.

“I done told yo ass, and Racks, I ain’t no fuckin’ dog. Rude bastards. Where y’all aggy asses at?” I spat.

“We getting something to eat, then hitting the cave. We got some shit to do. Yo ass gonna be able to make it? I know you got Lil’ D,” he answered.

“I ain’t sho’ yet. Aye, yo ass spoke to Big Lou?” I questioned.

“Hell yeah. He done worked my fuckin’ nerves. That’s where our asses comin’ from. He wanna see yo ass. He’s pissed you haven’t brought Lil’ D to see his ass,” he grumbled out.

“Niggah, the fuck else happen? Yo ass sounding like yo ass needs some Calgon to help take yo ass away,” I joked, causing Racks to holler.

I knew he had my ass on speaker. It’s only a few times his ass don’t do that shit.

“Fuck y’all busta ass, summabitches. I’ll tell yo ass bout that shit later. I’m setting some shit up at ‘Creamy Pies.’ Shot Bumps’ bitch ass on the outside. Fucker was there to interview fa’ a damn security job. All that shit suspect as fuck,” he informed me.

“That ain’t all. Niggah damn near fucked Stallion on the side of her truck. Niggah been on one since finding out she dance there,” Racks called out.

“Light bright muthafucka. I ain’t been on shit. Yo ass the one on yo, ‘I’m man, hear me roar’ bullshit.’ Nigga seen Kimmy’s ass wit her sponsor, and ain’t been right since,” Stone clapped back.

“Fuck ya peculiar looking ass,” Racks barked, causing Stone to chuckle.

“Damn, y’all asses sounds like the fucking Golden Girls. Are y’all asses through? Actin’ like some females. What time we meeting tonight?” I spoke.

Death silence is the only way I can describe what’s coming from his end.

“We actin’ like females? His ass out here catering, kissing ass, while leaving cars, threatening muthafuckas, and shit. Un huh,” Stone taunted.

Smacking my teeth while eyeing my phone like they asses is standing right there.

“Sucking his teeth like a bitch. I bet he rolled his eyes too,” Racks teased.

“Fuck both of y’all. Time, nigga?” I snapped.

  “One A.M.,” Stone answered.

“Bet. I’ll get up wit y’all,” I answered, hanging up.

Looking in the rearview mirror at Lil’ D. He’s bopping along to whatever his ass is watching.

  $$$$$$$$$

  Thirty minutes later…….

“Welcome to Chick-Fil-A. We are having a great day today. I’m Alicia. What can I get for you?”

  Hyper happy ass, I thought.

“Two twelve piece nuggets, large, one with a Spr
ite, one with a vanilla shake, with whip cream and a cherry. Polynesian sauce, bout eight of’em,” I ordered.

  She repeated my order.

“Okay, twenty-three sixty. Can I have a name for this order?”

“Townsland,” was all I said, before pulling up.

Hitting the window, I paid, then received our food. Baby girl got a lil’ flustered upon seeing me. I’m used to the bullshit. Some females just be doing too fuckin’ much. That’s something I appreciate bout Neesha. I ain’t shit to her ass. She don’t have a problem letting me know that shit neither. Before I went up to the hospital to check on Seaqual, I took Racks’ advice.

Well, sort of. I had HP check her out. Racks didn’t lie bout me questioning the dudes round the way, I did. Received the same damn answer. ‘Naww, man, her mean ass won’t even speak hardly. Talkin’ to her ass is like going on a damn interview. She wants goals and five year plans.’

  “Thank you, come again.”

Her wobbly ass voice broke my thoughts. Without a word of acknowledgement, I pulled up. Holding up traffic while checking my bag. Lil’ D know what time it is. He pressed the button for his tray to pop out from the passenger seat. Like how they are set up on the airplane.

I handed his food to him as the truck behind me blew his horn. I mean, the rude bastard laid on the damn horn.

“Be right back,” I mumbled, climbing out the truck.

With measured steps, and a death glare etched on my face, I made it to his driver’s door. His eyes widened as I approached, pulling my hand from behind my back. I tapped on the window wit the sharp point of my blade.

He eyed me, petrified, but made no attempt at letting the window down.

“Read my lips. Let the muthafuckin’ window down now, before you piss me the fuck off,” I mouthed.

  Slowly, the window descended.

“What’s yo problem? Are you in a rush? Are you late for something? Help me to understand why yo rude ass is laying on the horn the way that yo ass is. I’m getting my fuckin’ son straight. Yo ass on some bullshit. Speak,” I seethed at him, slowly.

His ass just stared, while turning a darker shade of red.

“Let this be a lesson to yo ass. You don’t know what’s going on in another vehicle. When yo bitch ass chooses to be a rude summabitch. Now, I’mma go climb back inside my truck and leave. Think about the errors of yo ways. We meet again, it’s gonna be yo death that does us apart.”
